A day in the life of Blake Kenneth

After having some breakfast, it's good to take a quick cat nap.

Then it's off to a mid-morning ride with Raffe.

Then there's the afternoon photo shoot.  Notice his first time wearing sandals
(he likes to wear them with socks like his Grandpa Willems!).

The day wouldn't be complete without catching the beautiful sunset from our deck
(including another photo shoot of course).

Until the next day...

Stand and Deliver, or Slobber

One of Blake's favorite things to do is watch himself in the mirror as mom helps him try to stand.  He is fascinated with the handsome kid staring back at him.  He loves to try and stand, and is working on developing his calves.  After a long day of working out, Blake always resorts to his favorite activity, sleep.  In fact he's breaking records every day.  We marked a new milestone for him when he slept through the night on the 26th.  He made it 7 hours and 38 minutes.  And he's already shattered that record, which now stands at 9 hours and 25 minutes logged on the 29th!!!
Oh, and yes, we are a data family.  We've been keeping track of many important statistics for him.  Here are some fun ones now that it's October 1st:
Diapers- Blake was born on the 24th of July, but managed to go through 70 diapers in July.  For his first full month of life, he managed 327 diapers in August.  He and his parents have learned a lot and Blake developed some efficiencies in September, setting the mark (pun intended) at 293 diapers in September.  His weekly min and max has been 57 and 81.  Daily range is 4 to 15, but who is counting?  We have more specific data, available upon request.
We've also kept track of his sleep, and he logged 406 hours, 51 minutes in August.  By the way, there were 744 hours in August.  He was more awake in September, as we tracked him at 350 hours and 38 minutes.  Ok, enough of the specifics for now.  Please enjoy some pics of standing and sleeping.

2 months, 10 million strong, and growing.

We celebrated Blake's two months on earth (terrestrial, not aquatic) with some laughs and a bath.  Everyday he responds more and has the whole neck muscle thing down pat.  Blake is such a good boy.

He focuses intently on mom during bath time.  He is almost growing out of the baby bath tub, and keeps asking about our hot tub.  Someday soon, we tell him.
That's all for now.  Looks like it might be bath time again.

Hangin' at GP & Nana's place

GP & Nana had us all over on Sunday to celebrate daddy's 40th Birthday with the Bart family (it's been busy for all of us hence the belated celebration).

Blake got some lessons on overhang construction from Grandpa Bartolomei...

...and then Blake showed GP how to be SUPER cute & irresistible!

Nana came to the rescue with a little bib to help with the drool!  Thank you Nana!

Happy Birthday, again, Daddy!

Next Size, Please!

Blake has officially graduated from size N to size 1 diapers.  He might be sad to see them go...

...but our little boy is getting bigger!  And the exciting part is he is able to wear some new clothes!  And that makes our little peanut happy!
He's just starting to try and talk to us.  We can see his confidence behind those happy eyes.  Anyone else see JKW in this pic?
Our neighbor found this pillow at the store and gave it to us.  We couldn't believe that they had a pillow on the shelf with all of his info.  Good thing he wasn't 8lbs 5oz, as they were on back order.  Must have been a large store.

Good thing these diapers don't have to go around my belly!
Another milestone in the Willems household is pictured below.  We never thought we'd see this, but these two are officially friends.  Note Doggie's eyes are shut.
Gigi is getting regular visits to make sure he is on track.
He couldn't make it to the Bruin game today, but is set to root them on after the next growth spurt.

He even has some new pajamas, but please sheild the eyes of any children reading along with you.  Below the next picture is a shot of his bear bottom.

Baby Blake is almost 8 weeks old.  Might have to start transitioning to keeping track in months.  Well, at least when people ask.  Thanks for reading and sharing in our journey. Until next update, KGBM television, Honolulu, Hawaii.
